Dryer "smoked" while running. After several weeks drum would not rotate without holding in the plunger on the door switch and manually spinning the drum to get it statred - while pressing the On button. I replaced the drive belt - as I assumed it was worn out. After replacing belt - it still required the above 3 steps to rotate the drum. After a few days it started without manually rotating the drum. Now it rotates drum again - with door switch plunger held in (with tape), the On button pressed - and manually rotating the drum to get it started. I'm assuming a electrical switch or sensor went bad - or some other electrical problem. If I'm lucky this will not require an expemsive circuit board replacement. Yes I'm frugal enough to continue to manually get the drum rotating - if all other efforts fail ! I'm of the "old school" with DOB 11/2/1948 ! Here is your parts breakdown Model MDE6000AYWIf the drum rotates relatively easily, it sounds like your motor is on its last legs |
