Correction: I didn't realize there was an "Age" above. This washer is 5 years old. I have a whirlpool gold model# GSW9650LW0 It squeals as shown in this video: WashingMachine.flv - Video - Photobucket - Video and Image HostingI have replaced the coupler between the motor and trans and it still squeals. I did try to turn the motor over by hand and noticed that it had a slight squeal to it. but not 100% sure that is where it is coming from. The motor looks non-repairable and looks like a replacement part only. If its not the motor what else can make that sound. What else can make that sound? Thoughts? Thanks, Mike

yep push it off to the side with the hoses still on it and run the washer and I bet the noise goes away,.. When you remove the hoses,to replace the pump there will be about a quart of water that comes out have some towels ready

Any one who can help I would aprreciate it. The above model washer is 2 years old. When the washer agitates there is a squealing noise coming from it as it goes back and forth. I had a repair man come out and he told us it needs a new brake cluch assembly, he says it would cost $300.00 to repair. I could replace the washer with a new one for $400.00. I found the part needed for the unit on this site for $122.00. Does this sound like this cluch brake assem bly is the problem, and if it does, is this a difficult job to perform. Thanks for the help.
