Compressor runs for about 7 seconds and shut offs (evap fan still running). A minute later, compressor runs again for about 7 sec. and repeats. What could be the prob?. I'm thinking the defrost timer is defected. how would i bypass it? or check it for sure? or is it the relay? please help. thanks

It is not the defrost timer it is the overload and relay kit mounted to the compressor. Tom

It will most likely be one or the other. But it smart to replace them both. Tom
