The freezer side is not getting cold enough. Both the freezer fan and refrig fan are working. The coils in the freezer are not cold. The refrigerator side is working fine so I don"t think that it is the compressor. Any ideas?

Here are your parts Replacement parts for KENMORE 10659792992 | AppliancePartsPros.comThe Sears parts site will have an actual parts breakdown. First you have to determine if the compressor is cycling or on all the time. You can usually hear it also it should be warm and you should be able to feel it vibrating. You did not say how warm the freezer is. It must be close as you said that the fresh food side was OK and it gets it's cooling from the freezer. Check that the condenser coils and the fan blade and the front kick panel are clear to ensure good air flow. All of the previous can cause poor cooling efficiency. Check the freezer temperature with a thermometer should be 0 to 5 degrees F. The fresh food should be around 40 degrees F. If the compressor is cycling then it is probably a thermostat problem. If the compressor is on all the time, remove the cover in the freezer so you can inspect the evaporator coils. If there is only frost in one area on the coils it is probably a sealed system problem. If the coils are heavily iced/frosted over then it is a defrost problem. |

The refrigerator and freezer are both not working (they are completely warm). I do not here the compressor kicking on at all. I do here a humming coming from the compressor area . To me it sounds like an electric motor that is stuck. There is a start device (relay and overload) attached to the compressor. Could this be the issue since the compressor won't even kick on? The evaporator coils are not cold at all. Thank you Denman.

Thanks for everything Denman. I checked the compressor per the website that you suggested and it checked out fine. The relay (starter device) was actually broken and it had burn marks on it. You saved me a lot of time and money and your expertise was right on the money. I will definitely use this sight and order parts from here again!
