Hello,

When my washer goes into the spin cycle, it starts spinning out of control. The basket bangs real loud on the washer walls and the machine starts walking across the floor. I opened it up and found little white plastic shreds all over the top of my clothes.

Any ideas what might be wrong?

Thanks,
Jeff

Mine just did the same thing. From the research I've done it sounds like it's probably the motor coupler which joins the motor and the transmission. I made the mistake of pulling the back panel off first to see if I could see obvious problems but after online research found that you can take the front cabinet off to get access to the motor. That's what I'll be doing tonight!

No, it sounds like the basket, and balance ring. It sits on top of the tub, and has water in it, if the water leaks out, then the tub will spin out of balance. The best way to be sure that it is the problem is, to turn the washer to a spin cycle, and let it get up to speed, with no clothes in it, and then open the lid, just as the washer drums totally stops, you should here a water swishing noise, that would be the water in the balance ring. If you do here it, you will have some other problems. The part # for the balance ring is 3951983. Tom

Just another thought for your to check.

The springs on the bottom, there are 3 smaller ones and a longer one. sometimes the part where the springs attach break or the springs get stretched over time.

Here's a parts breakdown Model LSQ8512KQ0
The springs are numbers 3 & 15 on page 6 of the breakdown.
