hi my dryer started makeing this wierd rubbing noise when it cam on and lasted the whole time it ran. so i stop useing andgave it sometime to rest to see if if it would do it again. so that night at about 700 pm i turn it on to see if it would make the same sound and it did. the next morning when i got my husband started to pull it and it was hot to the touch so we unplug it (the plug itself was not hot) and now i have no dryer. do you have any ideal what is wrong with it.

I'll bet if you unplug it and run a continuity check between the heating element and chassis ground, you'll find the element is shorted to ground.
