Icemaker GE - IM4, part # WR30X10093.
The icemaker suddenly quit making ice and the green power light is blinking. :mad: I have removed it, thawed it completely and replaced it. The light is still blinking. According to GE the light should be solid and they said that this means that I must replace the icemaker at a cost of $142.50 plus shipping. I think that the problem is with the PC board inside of the unit, but GE will not sell individual parts.
Has anyone here experienced this problem and have any suggestions. :confused:

I own a GE fridge and i'm replacing my ice maker also. I have been through a number of steps and came to the conclusion that I need to replace the ice maker itself. The ice maker is a whole separate system from the fridge. Only other part might be the water inlet valve to the ice maker itself, that's only if your ice maker is not receiving water to the freeze tray. In my opinion it would be worth your while to by the part on this website for $97.47 versus paying GE for their marked up icemaker. Best reguards. Squirerv.

My GE icemaker just quit, also. I've already had to replace one circuit board when the fridge wasn't cooling, now this. I don't think I'll ever buy another GE refridge. When I opened the cover and saw a circuit board, I knew that it must bbe fried. The green light does come on steady, but, it won't make ice.

i pulled my icemaker out to get the model number and noticed that the plastic piece above the freeze tray was out of place and was preventing the pieces that push out the ice from turning. popped it back in place and all is well! I'm happy, but, still won't buy another GE fridge.

Update -
Icemaker still does not work. Most recent attempt to trouble shoot was to remove it from freezer and apply 120VAC directly to the motor terminals and the motor tried to turn (made a sound) but did not turn. Does this mean that the motor is bad or could it be that a gear is broken and jamming them works?

i've had this issue, as of today, 4 times. it's a water problem. I have very hard water and when the lines or filter gets clogged up the green light starts to blink. Now, I have replaced the water inlet valve from the main water line twice, cost 6 bucks and it worked. the other two times, it was that I needed a new water filter, located inside the fridge, about 36 bucks. the problem is a lack of water flow or water pressure.
