The "front fill" water button which is a dedicated water only fill control has pretty much stopped working on my freezer side door. If I really hit it hard it may work but can also get stuck on. Water can still be dispensed using the 5 button controls set to water but I'd like to get the front fill working again. This seems to be a purely mechanical problem probably with the "sports button" itself, as its called in this website but I'm not sure if I would need to replace other parts as well such as the limit swich which in the diagram seems to connect with the button. Has anyone out there had this problem or done this repair? Thanks, Roger.

In order to diagnose the problem you have to remove the Dispenser Facade and then perform the troubleshooting. You can find the complete disassembly instructions in the Service manual.

Here are the break down diagrams for the Amana refrigerator Model ARSE67RBW

Use service library at maytag to download service manual (as per link - Gene). Remove the ice / water facade with power off - two screws seen once water catcher is removed. Unplug wires and you will see that because the button hinge has become sloppy, your water button goes slightly to the left and sometimes misses the water switch. I put fuse wire in the left hinge to tightened it and button works fine again.
