Dryer heating element does not cycle during normal operation. Clothes get too hot, cool down cycle does not cool down, fluff cycle also heats clothes. Changed out the thermostat with no change in operation.

Here is the parts breakdown. Replacement parts for WHIRLPOOL LER5620KQ1 ELECTRIC DRYER | AppliancePartsPros.comCould be a grounded element. Check the heating coil. Unplug the unit and both wires to the coil. Check it with a meter, should be around 10 to 12 ohms. Then check from each side of the coil to the case/frame, both should be infinite ohms (open). If not the coil may have sagged or broken and is touching the case. This can cause it to run on and the thermostats cannot regulate it. |

I will tear it down again and check the element. That does make good logic. Thanks for the information.
