Compessor works, lights all work, thermostat clicks, new evaporator fan flickered on but quit. Evap. coil was iced up. Both sides were hot. This is an Amana sidexside made for Kenmore. After I put new fan on and cut refg. on, new fan did not work.

Will a bad Bi-metal thermostat keep the evap. fan motor from working? Thanks. Will advise, waiting on part.

A bad defrost thermostat, bi-metal, is part of the defrost system. If it is bad then it will not go into defrost cycle. The evaporator fan doesn't run while in defrost cycle.

Replaced bi-metal thermostat, Didn't help.

Compressor runs, evap. coils get cold.
