My dryer drys good but started to make a lot of noise. I think it is coming from the impeller, not any of the rollers or idler pulley.
I pulled the front off. The impeller turns good when the motor is running but can be easily stopped by hand. When motor is off you can spin the impeller by hand and nothing else seems to turn.
Is this normal? Is it supposed to be rigidly attached to shaft?
I have not removed it, but just looking at it, the impeller looks good and doesn't seem to have a lot of slop to it.
Any help or pointers would be appreciated? What parts do I need, just the impeller?
Thanks!

Here is your parts breakdown Model LDE8904ACEYes the blower should be tight on the motor shaft. Check out Item 5 in the "Motor drive" section. You will notice they have a crappy clamp but also a good screw type clamp. You may have to replace the blower wheel since it has been slipping on the motor shaft the hole may be too large now. Here is a manual to help with the replacement http://www.servicematters.com/m...ibrary/docs/16008714.pdf |
