Being a dummy, I tried to take off the top of my washer and I think I broke the nuts that hold it down. It's unclear to me how they attached originally. I have looked at the diagram, but it only shows two nuts at the back. Mine also has two nuts at the front.

Is this just something left out of the diagram? In other words, if I order 4 new nuts is it likely I'll be able to reattach the top?

The good news is that I found a broken plastic motor coupling when I tipped it over which is the original problem I was trying to troubleshoot. So while I know I can fix my original problem, I'm less sure about re-attaching the top!

Any advice?

Update: I was looking at the wrong parts. It seems I might just need four new screws here:

And four new spacers here:
Model KAWS700GQ0

I guess my only other question is, how do I screw them on? I will not have access to screw on the two front ones from the back. So how are these things supposed to be attached?

Was thanked: 2 time(s) in 2 post(s)
You take out the two control panel screws, remove the two spring clips and the lid switch connector, and tilt the outer cover away from the washer base, turn upside down, and replace the screws.

Right. But how will I be able to reach the front screws? I can reach the back ones because the back panel comes off. But it seems like I won't be able to reach that far down to screw in the two front ones.

So am I supposed turn it over and reach that far down? Or is there an easier access to those screws somehow?

Ok, I had to remove the cabinet to get at the motor coupling anyway, so I will have easier access to those screws with the cabinet removed! Thanks...
