My dryer was not heating. After testing and replacing most of the electrical parts. I found a short. It was a orange wire running from the fabric selector switch to the timer. It was burnt at the timer. I spliced the wire and reconnected it. How ever, it only gets hot on time dry. It does not heat on auto dry. Do I need to replace the timer? or is there some thing else I can do?

Before replace any parts I would recommend to run a few tests as described in the repair manual.

- Here are the break down diagrams for the Amana dryer Model LEA50AW

Good luck.

Hello, just wondered it you fixed the problem? What the ultimate issue was? I have the same issue with my dryer. I replaced the wire but hasn't helped my heating issue. I've replaced fuses, thermostats, and heating element, but can'
t help think (after reading your post) that this is the issue. thanks
