Oven igniter glows but fails to open gas valve. Amp draw on wire to igniter jumps around 3.4 to 3.7 amps on my amp gauge. After measuring this amp draw I thought the valve was faulty, replace valve with Sears replacement and still acts the same will not open valve!!! So do I need to replace the igniter? Looks like next logical move to me.
Will the igniter listed on this site AP 2934763 work? Lot cheaper then Sears replacement igniter.
Thanks

There is an air flow adjustment on the burner bar.

Thanks Nat, I have that all the way open, still real high with a long yellow flame on top. Also tried it closed, worse then. New valve, so don't know where to go.

Try cleaning or replacing the burner bar.

Thanks will clean it now,
Cleaned burner, was really clean. looked at orifice and noticed that it was not screwed all the down to base of valve the old valve has the orifice screwed down. Removed valve and screwed the orifice down. bingo working great.
Thanks for all your help, I really am a novice at this.
