Rank: Member Groups: Registered Joined: 7/30/2011(UTC) Posts: 1		Please provide basic trouble identification. the unit has power 240 V at the power leads, left and right, and has 120v on each leg. Have tested the push to start button and it makes contact. There is 120v ac at the switch. The blower thermistor appears to be good it has continuity on the case leads and infinite at the brass contacts. Tested the thermal fuse and it read 0 ohms. I bypassed switch and thermal fuse and the unit still wont start. How do I trouble shoot the timer. All other point have 27- 30 vac as best i can test. One gnd lead on neutral and hot lead at each point on the timer as well with the thermistors. The heating element reads 10 ohms with leads unplugged and no mains power. How to proceed with additional trouble shooting?

I could not find Q0 so the following is for KQO. Here are your parts. Replacement parts for WHIRLPOOL REX4634KQ0 RESIDENTIAL DRYER \| AppliancePartsPros.com See the attachment for the wiring diagram. To check the BU/BK timer contacts Unplug the unit and set the timer to mid point in a cycle. Undo the wires from either BK or BU and measure across the contacts, should be 0 ohms. It is important to undo one side as this prevents you from reading an alternate/parallel circuit. If contacts are OK. Unplug the unit and attach one meter lead to Neutral at the line cord plug and leave it there. Now work your way back through the motor circuit till you find the open. May be easier with 2 people so that the other person can push the start button when you take your readings on the other side of it. Once you get to the motor side of the thermal fuse you should see the motor windings around 2 ohms. File Attachment(s): REX4634.pdf (238kb) downloaded 6 time(s).
