The other night we smelled something "hot" (possibly electrical) around the dishwasher so we stopped it & were going to look into next day. Well the next day daughter goes to start it (not knowing all of this happened) and the LED lights light up like it is going to start & then turns off. It will not run or drain. The LED lights light up when they are pressed, but nothing happens. Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated. PLEASE tell me it's not time for a new one!! :(

Msladyh,

Several things you should check, first.
Remoev the lower access panel, and kick plate, remove power to the dishwasher, remove the cover from the junction box cover, and check the wiring and wiring nuts for damage, loose, burn marks.

From there we need to suspect a problem in the door switches or wiring, or the control panel keypads.

HIGH TEMP WASH ⇒ HEATED DRY ⇒ HIGH TEMP WASH ⇒ HEATED DRY

If the above key sequence is entered with the dishwasher in Standby, the
Diagnostics Cycle is started. The Diagnostics Cycle can be rapid-advanced,

interval by interval, by pressing the Start/Resume key.

If you cannot program the diagnostic cycle, suspect the keypad / control panel assembly is at fault.

Good Luck,
:) :) :)

Mslady,

So you did the basic reccomended checks, and the unit is dead, now.

You're going to need to get access to a multi meter

Part number: AP3873826
Part number: AP3873826

So we can check the thermal fuse circuits and voltage at the control board.

Part number: AP3115186
Part number: AP3115186

Part number: AP3961536
Part number: AP3961536

That way we can pin point the problem and get you up and going.
