How do I determine if this window unit runs on 110 or 220? The tag on the cord does not specify. It no longer cools adequately and we plan to replace it but prefer not to rewire.

220. You can also tell by looking at the plug. A 110V unit will have a standard three-prong plug. 220V units can have several different plugs, most common being one that looks like a standard three-prong, with one blade turned 90 degrees.

Yes if it plugs into a standard wall plug it is 110 volts.
Note: That most wall units are 110 volts. |
