When I hit bake and hit the up arrow to 350, the preheat light comes on for a short time and beeps. The light goes off and beeping continues showing f3 fault. What part do I need, and can I replace it?

Here are your parts
Replacement parts for MAYTAG MER5730AAA RANGE- S/C F/S ELE | AppliancePartsPros.com

Here is a manual which covers theses units.
16010161 Maytag Gas and Electric Range Service Manual - ApplianceDigest.com
You have to join the site to download the manual but it is free and this is a very good site for manuals and other info for the appliance repair DIYer.

Looks like F3 is a sensor error so I would start by checking it.
Here is a good link, check out 7,8, 20 and 21.

If the sensor and it's wiring and the connection at the control board check out OK, then the control board itself becomes the prime suspect.

Thanks Denman,
Trying to troubleshoot and cannot find the ribbon. I have had the entire console apart. May be looking for a new range.

Troubleshooting instructions say to remove the key pad ribbon from the main board and plug the range back in to see if you still get the error code. If it returns, and the sensor checks out, it is the main board. My sensor read close to 1300 on the ohm meter.

Thanks,
Fastfreddy

I looked again at your parts and your control does not have a separate keyboard so there is no ribbon cable.
I think your unit uses an RS1 control Page 1-14.

Your temp sensor seems a little high but should still run through your oven temperatures would be low as the unit thinks it is at about 200 degrees when in fact it is at room temperature.

Did you check the resistance with it unplugged from the board. This ensures that you read only the sensor resistance and not an alternative/parallel circuit on the board.

I unplugged the sensor and removed it from the oven to check it. I did this twice and the first time was a little higher.
This all happened after doing a self clean.
Where do I find the RS1 control Page 1-14 on the internet?
Thanks
