My dryer has suddenly stopped working. It was drying a load when it stopped. When the start button is pushed there is nothing happening. The timer still is clicking so I know that there is power and not a blown breaker and the push to start switch has continuity. I have replaced the motor once already a couple of years ago but it does not make any noise as if it is trying to run, just total silence. Is there a possibility that the timer is bad or some safety fuse has tripped and if so how would I check and replace it?

Here is your parts breakdown Model LER7646EQ0Here is a tech sheet https://www.servicematters.com/d...0Sheet%20-%203401735.pdfYou will see that there is a Thermal Fuse in the motor circuit. I believe this is Item 7 in Section 3 of the parts breakdown. If you do not have a meter to check it. You could short the wires together, tape them up so they cannot short to anything and give it a try. If blown replace it. Do not leave it like this as this is a fire safety device. Give the inside of the unit a good cleaning. Also clean and check your vent system. Something caused it to blow. If both are clean check that the blower is OK. |

This really worked for me. I didn't have a meter so I taped them together and sure enough the dryer worked. No need for a new dryer just a 15.00 part.
Thanks Denman.

The thermal fuse is in the back of the dryer, and white in color, and is about an inch and a half long, and a half inch wide. Tom www.applianceeducator.com
