My washer was leaking after it fills when the wash cycle starts. I removed panel and found it leaked from the tub in the center above motor. After removing the trunnion I found the copper seal was completely void of any rubber and the spring in the large rubber seal was completely rusted. I replaced both of them and it still leaks. After cleaning the barnacles :) from the trunnion, I noticed that the circular rim was no longer smooth ...could that be the issue or is there something else to be replaced? Did I miss something in the diagrams? Is there another seal outside under the tub that I can't see? Any suggestions!

That should have fixed things, but there may be some damage from the leaking that did not allow the seals to set properly. Here is a link to the service manual so you can see exactly what it is supposed to look like. http://www.emaservicetips.com/pdfs/489_5.pdf
