Repairman said there should have been a diagram in the back of the unit but there isn't one. I need it to help him determine which part we may need to replace so the unit will work again. He found a switch that acts, we think, like a thermostat by the heater coil. It has no continuity in it, however everything else he tested does have continuity. Thanks in advance for any help that might come.

Yes, I have a heating problem. The unit tumbles but produces no heat.

I do not know what the part you sent me looks like. I will have to get the repairman out here again to have him take it out and compare to your picture. We were given a part # 3977767 by a help desk person we called. Don't know if they are the same part or not...

Thank you so much Joe and Kyle for all of your help! I am so happy to be able to now get my dryer fixed! I love hanging clothes out during the summer, but drying sweat pants and shirts indoors in the winter takes a very long time!

Finally found a heating unit for my Kenmore 400 dryer. However, there are only 2 terminals on the new unit and 3 on the old. I am thinking the third terminal on the old unit is feeding somethning else on the drier as it is common to one of the supplies. Also, the old unit had something that may be some kind of limit and the new does not have this. And now, the "prongs" on the new unit are too large to rbpdruVPRecieve the female source connections. Woe is me! I am not an electrican and I am 90 years old. Help! George
