I have a malfunctioning icemaker for the Kitchen Aid. Aside from a broken link between the large drive gear and the ice ejector and possible defective motor, I need to test the mold heater to see if it is ok. Is there a test I can perform using my Volt-Ohm meter to see if it is working?

I would recommend not to waist your time and just replace the whole ice maker. I understand that you would like to save $$$ but the rate of success on ice maker repairs is pretty low. It is very possible you will end up with much more money spend. In order to test the mold heater you have to remove the motor-module and measure the heater resistance. It should read 72 Ohms. You also have to check the thermostat for continuity. - The part number for the ice maker is AP3182733 - The part number for the motor-module is AP3177342 - The part number for the mold-heater assembly is AP4261258 - The part number for the alumilastic cement (needed to reinstall the thermostat) is AP3103415 Here are the break down diagrams for the Kitchen Aid refrigerator Model KSCS25INSS00Gene.

Thanks. I have reached that conclusion as well. I could get lucky and hit the right defective part but buying a whole new unit will make more sense. For what it's worth I am pretty sure it's the heater but the link to the large drive gear is broken as well so buying both(heater and motor module) individually costs as much as a whole new unit. Thanks for you help and advice.
