My dishwasher Doesn't dry the dishes or get the water hot. You can open the door during the run cycle and the water is just luke warm. Before when you open the door during the run cycle you would get a big blast of steam and it would fog up your glasses. The only way you can get the dishes half way clean is to run it on the pots & pans cycle. When cleaning on pots and pans it takes around 6 hours for the dishwasher to finish. It used to only take about an hour or so to finish. I assume there must be a sensor on the unit that detects the water temperature and causes it to run longer if the water doesnt get hot enough. I checked the heating element and it has 11.5 ohms resistance which should be ok for the heating element. Is there somthing else that could be keeping the heating element from turning on?

Most likely the problem is a bad control module (heating circuit).

- The part number for the control module is AP2806813

Here are the break down diagrams for the Thermador dishwasher Model DW246US (FD 7711-7912)
