We received this oven used from a relative. When I turn on the oven I can smell gas, and it takes quite a while for it to reach temperature. I was told by a friend that I probably needed a thermocoupler, but when I went to live chat here on the site I was told it couldn't be found for this particular model. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

many newer (less than 5 years) gas ovens will read resistance from the glow bar (ignitor) as a type of thermocouple. visualy check the glow bar for discolorations, specificly an ashy spot. if this is the case it is likely your problem. also check you modle # (likely on either the left or right side front when you open the lower drawer

Hi mmorgan100

Most likely the problem with your oven is a bad bake igniter. Replacing it should solve the problem.

WOOHOO! All better. It was the ignitor. Thank you so much! We couldn't have done it without you!
