Rick,

The solenoid and the actuator arm, have nothing to do with the auger turning, They determine wether you'll receive "cubed" or "crushed" ice.
The end of the actuator arm simply fits inside the square plastic bale/yoke in the opening on the left side of the dispenser motor housing on the back wall.

A couple of things, ways to check the auger motor, remove the ice bin, tape the door switch down, and press the ice dispenser paddle, listen closely, and you should hear a "click" noise from the switch in the dispenser, to run the motor. Check and make sure the wire harness at the freezer door hinge has good tight connections at the connector. If you hear the switch click, you should also be able to hear the auger motor hum or it should rotate the yoke on the motor shaft.

Let us know what you find/see, we can go from there.

Good Luck,
:) :) :)

Rick,

Did I mis understand something ?

There is no "pump" in the water supply system of the fridge. there is a fill valve, filter, reservoir, and tubes.

The filter is located in the ceilimg of the refrigerator compartment, it looks like an oil filter for a car, it should be replaced at least once a year.

Do you have a "good" water supply at the water dispenser in the freezer door ?

Could you give us a better idea of the circumstances and the problem you're having. We should be able to get you going from there.

Rick,

OK, so the icemaker won't fill.

Check and make sure, the fill tube (on tghe back wall is not blocked with ice.

You'll need a short piece of insulated wire, 2 or 3 inches long with 1/2 inch of the insulation removed from both ends.

Remove the white plastic cover off the front of the icemaker, at the 4 and 5 o'clock positions, you'll see the openings labelled "T" and "H" . insert the bare ends into the openings(make sure you make contact with the internal terminals), hold the wires there until the large main "gear" starts to rotate then remove the wire.
When the rake arm reaches the 4 o'clock position, you can touch the bottom of the icemaker mold and see if it's getting warm (heater). when the rake arm reaches the 1 to 2 o'clock position, the water fill valve should activate and fill the icemaker mold(takes 7 to 10 seconds). at the 3 o'clock position the rake arm should stop and come to a rest.

If all checks OK, except the fill , you'd most likely have a bad water inlet valve.

Good Luck,

water inlet valve works when switching power supply from water dispensor side to the icemaker side and water did enter the icemaker after pushing water dispensor. what part of icemaker sends message or energizes the water inlet? also did test with wire to t-h on icemaker and does not get water after cycle complete. thanks, rick

Rick,

Based on your post,
You have a bad "fill" contact, in the icemaker control module, or broken wire(possible, but not likely).

Part number: AP4359694
Part number: AP4359694

You do have options,

You can dismantle and replce the module of the icemaker,

Or order and replace the icemaker assembly, as a unit.

Part number: AP2984633
Part number: AP2984633

Either way, you should do fine.

Good Luck,
:) :) :)
