My wife ran the oven thru the self cleaning cycle for the first time in preparation for Thanksgiving and the glass broke on the upper oven door. Is this a repair that a handy homeowner can handle? Any tips? Also...would you have any idea if Kitchenaid should cover this as a warranty item?

I had the same problem...what did you find out? Can you just replace the inner pane glass with little hastle?

We experienced exploding glass when our oven was set to self clean for the first time. Our unit is model #KEBS107SSS00 and is about 14 months old. After seeing all of the online posts about this happening, we contacted Kitchen-Aid. They returned our email a day later and offered to replace the glass at no charge, but said that we would have to pay the labor charges since they say that the oven is not defective, but the fault lay with the glass. This oven has a 2 year warranty. We will see how the replacement glass holds up.
