I am working on my son's washer dryer combo. The machine agitates fine, but when it goes to spin the motor turns but the belt don't. It acts like it wants to move. I have replaced the belt and the tensioner seems fine. I can turn the transmission by hand, but it doesn't seem that easy.

Did you use the factory specified belt?? If not, just order the right one at this site.

Shine a bright lite in the spin basket and check for something in the tub. Also, if the belt doesn't smoke in spin, you probably have a weak idler pulley spring.

The belt had burnt in the spin. Then I replaced it.

This confirms either a jammed tub or bad tranny. Go to www.applianceaid.com for take apart info to pull the spin basket out.

I have ordered a new tranny, bearing, and seal. Is whatever fluid that is in the tranny already come in the new one or do I need to get some?

Tranny ALWAYS comes filled with oil. I wish you well with this rather big job. Please keep us posted, and I hope the info at ww.applianceaid will be sufficient to do the job. Sorry, I just checked that site and they don't give tranny replacement info. You might try Google

This wasn't as bad as I expected. Machine works great and I ordered the parts on a Tueday afternoon at 2:30 and they were at my door on Wednesday evening. Had this not been a washer dryer combo that costs $800.00 to $900.00 to replace I would not have done it.
