I’m having a problem with ice / water dispenser in my Kitchen Aid refrigerator, model # KSFS25FKWH01.

While the ice maker works; when pressing the lever for ice or water to be dispensed, it does nothing. The light bulb does not light up, no ice, and no water. When actuating the levers you can hear the clicking of the micro switches for both the water and ice. Also when actuating the lever for the ice you can hear the ice door closing properly. The problem started after I removed and cleaned the clear plastic ice chute. A week later I started having problems with the water dispenser not working intermittently, but a slam to the freezer door would get it going again. A week after that the ice dispenser started doing the same thing. Eventually both quit completely.

I’ve taken the front cover assembly off and nothing looks obviously broken. I have a multi-tester so if I need to check voltage or for continuity, then I can. Originally, I thought that my problem could be the door switch since if the freezer door is opened then the water dispenser stops working.

Please give me some educated guesses as to what my problem is. Things to check test, etc.

Thanks,
Stephen

I removed and tested the freezer door switch for continuity. The freezer light works so I was not surprised when I tested the yellow and black pins for continuity and it was good. The other pin…the Blue one along with the black, tested OL or over limit while the door would be open, but tested good when I actuate the switch and close the door. I believe that the blue pin would be the one that would cut the power to the dispenser when the freezer door is opened.

Still looking…any suggestions?
