Clothes seem to be taking longer than usual, we have disconnnected the exhaust to determine if this was the cause. The temperature doesnt seem as hot as is was a month or so ago. Any ideas?

Check the blower wheel (#10 on the break down diagram) and the blower housing.

If it would not help, then replace the gas valve coils.

- The part number for the coil kit is AP3094251

Thanks Gene.

In the mean time we had the The Gas Company take a look. They will check any gas appliance for free. When he looked he was 90% sure it was the ignitor. He said he heard one click instead of two. The dryer keeps running w/o getting hot. If not, he suggested the control valve.

I am not clear on how this makes any sense. Hint, my wife spoke to him not I. The dryer actaully gets more warm then hot. How can the ignitor be bad if is getting warm.

Confused even more now. Do your suggestions still stand with this un/helpful information.

Igniter is very simple - it works or not. It can not work intermittently.

Thanks for the quick response.

Just another note I should have included.

When the dryer is running the back metal plate that sits inside the Bulkhead Assembly is very hot to the touch and no air is coming in/out of it. I have no idea what it does during normal operating conditions. I am thinking this is where the heat is being generated and that air should be flowing and is why nothing is drying.

Thanks again, hopefully this will narrow the problem down.
