clicking noise began this mornining. checked freezer and ice cube trays melting. Also, refrig at 55 degrees. Suspect may be compressor? How do i check if compressor is working? It is warm to the touch.

Unplug the refrigerator. Remove the compressor start device (#15 on the diagram) and shake it.

If it makes a rattling sound or there are a burned spots on it, replace the start device.
