I have a GE no-frost upright 20 cu ft freezer. It isn't freezing. Power is on, fan works, lights work, can't hear the compressor run. It did not gradually lose it's cooling, it suddenly stopped freezing. :(

  • I am fair at trouble shooting and I have a digital v-o meter.
  • Is a diagnostic flow/spec chart available or online somewhere?
  • Or can you tell me the best way to diagnose the electrical components? (specs)
  • I haven't checked for freon in the system, however, we didn't hear, see fog or smell freon (leak) in the small room where the freezer is.
  • Which components can I test or bypass to check compressor operation and in what order?
Thanks,
RW :)

The easiest way to check the start relay is remoe it and shake it, if it rattles then it's bad.

Here is your parts breakdown
Model FUF20DACRWH

And here is a pretty good help site.

I would check out the freezer section but the refrigerator section will probably be of more use.
