The control board was burnt for the front panel ice dispenser. The solenoid, flapper bar, etc must have gotten hot because the bar was melted and broken directly above the solenoid. How do I check to make sure the new solenoid kit and new control board do not get fried after installed?
In other words how do I check to make sure I get to the root of the problem.

If the fountain heater is not shorted and the wire harness is good then you probably should be fine.

Where is the fountain heater located? Same for wiring harness (exactly what is this)? Thanks

It is located inside the fountain housing (#5 on the diagram). It prevents water in the dispenser water line from freezing.

It is also shown on the wiring diagram.
