Gene, The auger on my Kitchen Aid (KSRT25CRWH01) side by side has recently stopped working. Everyone in my family disavows any knowledge of how this might of occurred:D The led code is 'two short flashes'. Before I go tearing into, I thought I would ask for some help this time  Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Regards, Bob

Based on my current experience, you might find that the drum with two "propeller" wings and the "baffle" that it turns against are broken, and the parts have it hopelessly jammed. It happened a my house due to a big chunk of ice wedging itself in there and the plastic parts broke apart.
I am ordering the two parts above to put the ice maker auger/cruncher assy on our whirlpool (same guts as a kitchenaid) back into service. Go look at the exploded assembly drawing after you take the ice bin/drawer--auger unit out of the freezer. It all comes apart with a few screws.
Good luck!

Gabby, Thanks for your suggestion and I apologize for not getting back to you. Today is the first day I have had the opportunity to have a look at the fridge. I removed the auger via the two screws in the freezer compartment but the motor still was not working. I then took the motor our and examined it. I saw no outward signs of any problem so I replaced it and to my surprise it began working. I reassemble the unit and guess what? It no longer worked. I disassembled it again and searched for a loose wire in the connectors but could not find anything although the motor began to work again some where in the process. Once again I tried reassembling the unit and replaced the auger. Everything worked great for about a half of cup of ice then stopped. I am assuming based on this series of events that the motor is probably the culprit but I am not convinced enough to order a new one. I believe this repair is going to be a hit or miss type approach and I think I'll call in a professional at this point.
Best Regards, Bob
