My dishwasher was in the first 5 minutes of its cycle when I smelled electrical burning. Within another 5 minutes I heard 2 "pops". Now I have nothing, no power, no lites. Control Module? I pulled the mod. but it doesn't look or smell burnt. Any ideas. Thanks, jlgx4

Remove the toe panel and check the wires connection to the dishwasher. Check the "on-off" switch. Check for 120VAC at the power outlet. Here are the break down diagrams for the Bosch dishwasher Model SHU4312 UC/12 (FD 8003-)Gene.

Pulled toe panel and the elect. connection burnt and melted speed nut connections. Not sure why. Cleaned and reconnected with new wire speed nuts, everthing is a go. Wife loves you. Thanks for the tip. jlgx4

I'm glad you were able to fix it. Your wife can be proud of you. Happy Thanksgiving.

I just had a bad burning smell from my Bosch dishwasher and it was the WIRING connection behind the kick panel! Just need a torx driver to open the black kick-panel under the door and on the right is your little electrial junction box. Look for blackening, melting, stick your nose in there. Any doubts, pull out the wires and cut 'em back a bit to fresh shiny wire and reterminate with new wire lugs. TURN THE BREAKER OFF FIRST - in your breaker panel, and measure the wires with an AC Voltmeter to make sure they're dead before you do this! But that was all that was wrong with mine! Idiot who installed it was sloppy and the stranded wire wasn't fully in the wire-nut. When you re-do it, strip TWICE as much stranded on the DW side as solid on the house side and make SURE the stranded part is FULLY within the nut as you tighten it, or do what I did and SOLDER the connections before you put new wire-nuts on there! -Phil
