There are 2 lights at the bottom of the freezer. One tells you the power is on, the other tells you there is something wrong. IE:not freezing. The other day we purchased food and filled up the freezer and the next day the second light came on. Thinking we packed too much into it I pulled out many items and waited another 2 days hoping the light would go off and the food would freeze. Well it did not. Also some of the other food was starting to defrost. Pulled everything out an let it sit for a few days on but no luck. Turned it off so I could clean it and have a repairman come out to look at it and was very surprised to find out it would probably be to my advantage to purchase a new one because it was as sealed system and any repairs would cost around $600.00. Well here is my dilemma, my wife tells me that when we removed most of the contents she noticed that the bread was still frozen??? So I fiddled with the dial (coldest to off) turned it to the highest level and put an ice cube tray on one of the shelves. It froze. But the second light is still on. Can I trust this freezer or is it just a thermostat problem?
