This is an under counter DW. The heating element on the bottom of the DW is broken and I need to replace it. To do so, how do I take it out and put another one in. Please don't tell me I will have to go underneath the DW or take it out. :-)
(Actually I do not know the age. It came with the house.)
Thanks.

Well, I got a bad news for you. Depend on how the heating element goes through the tub you do have to go underneath (if it goes down through the tub in the front) or even remove the dishwasher from the cabinet (if it does it on the back of the dishwasher).
In order to provide the right part number I need to know if the tub made of plastic or it is stainless steel.
Gene.

The tub is made of plastic. The heating element is shaped nearly like a horse shoe. The connections are in the back half on the bottom of the tub. Would I need washers as well?

Sorry for the delay. Unfortunately you do have to remove the dishwasher from the cabinet unless your arms are long enough to reach the nuts, secured the heating element. Washers are included with the new heater. - The part number for the heater is AP4325066 Gene.
