About 6 months ago I started having to push the door for it to shut completely. Now it appears that the rubber seal/gasket around the door has started to spread out. The gaps between the folds in the seal are wider than they used to be and compared to the gaps on the freezer door, which is fine. The refrigerator door sticks out further than the freezer door as well. It seems that the contents of the door are not as cold as they should be. Is there a magnet or something within the gasket that may no longer work or do I just need a new gasket?

I never got around to thanking your for your reply. I ordered a new gasket months ago as my husband was willing to admit there was an problem. We finally installed the gasket today. It was not easy to get in, but a bit of patience and problem solved. I figure it's never too late to say thanks!

My Kenmore side by side needs new door gaskets. The old ones are falling apart.

I read your post.

What did you have to do to get the gaskets replaced?

On mine, the seal is sandwiched in very tightly between the inner door and the outer door, and I am sure how to get them apart to replace the gaskets.

I looked at some videos on uTube, but these showed models for which you merely needed to pull back the seal, and loosen the screws. No screws are visible on mine, nor any groove that fits into the door.

THanks you any info you have that may help.
