I need instructions for the repair of this glass top assembly, but the GE manual only lists models up to 1991. This range is newer than that.
The part lists on your web site for $253; before I order the unit, I need to know if the installation is very complex. If I have to pay a repair person to do the job, I'll just have to junk the unit and buy a new one because the cost of the job will exceed the worth of the range.
I'm handy with tools. Please advise/help.

First, if it is less than 5 years old the cooktop part is under warranty, unless you broke it. The labor cost would run in the neiborhood of $250. To get the cooktop off, there are 2 screws under the cooktop. open the oven door, and you will see them. take the screws out, and the cooktop will lift up. The top is hinged at the back, so a lift and pull will get the top off the hinge. The burners are attached to bars that attach to the top. remove only the screws that the bars attach to the top. This should get you started.

Excellent. Thanks. I'll give it a shot.
