washer keeps filling up no matter what cycle I have it on small load or large causing it to over flow all over the floor.

Check the tube going from the tub to the pressure switch in the control panel. Look for water in the tube, a crak or a hole. Let us know what you find. Here's a breakdown Model MAV5960AWW
