I ordered a Speed Queen top loader as a replacement. No time to deal with this. I will let it go to anyone who wants to repair and use it. I see a number of old Maytags on Craigslist for free or cheap, even an old wringer washer. One day these maytags will be recognized for their true worth, and become valuable and collectible, just as the old 1940-1950 Okeefe and Merritt, or Wedgewood gas stoves are today.
