My Admiral washer has been giving me trouble on the spin cycle. Earlier today it went through the cycle but when I lifted the lid, it had not spun out. Later it started filling and then quit. It would not make any noise and would not work on any cycles. There was no humming or anything. We drained the washer and then let it sit for awhile then, mysteriously it started working but it whines a little at the end of the cycle. I don't know if it is the timer or the motor. Any ideas?

Remove the front panel and check if the motor heats up during the cycle. If it does then the motor start to die.

It does not heat up. Is there a relay that might cause it to shut itself off if a large load is unbalanced?

Possible there is an intermittent problem with the lid switch. If it works now, then do not do anything and wait until it will stop again.
