Hi. I'm new to the forum and I almost trashed the oven before trying to see if it could be fixed.
The oven is a Kenmore 24 inch range that was in our home when we moved in about two years ago. It worked fine until earlier this year when it would not heat. Sometimes, it would heat up in time and I thought I would help it along by banging on the heating door...and it was amazing that the oven would ignite sometimes but now, it doesn't.
I see a small yellow-red flame in the back, and it only comes on if I turn on a top burner. The left side of the stove won't ignite without a match...I'm not sure what is going on or if it is something that can be fixed.
I have to have a stove this size because of space restraints so I'm inclined to try to fix it.
Any ideas?

Most likely the problem with your oven is a bad igniter. Remove the oven floor and the flame spreader to access the igniter. Does it click and spark on the left side burners of the stove when you turn a knob "on"? If it does click and spark but does not light then lift up the top panel and, using a needle, unblock all holes on the burners. - The part number for the oven igniter is AP2150412 Gene.

Thanks Gene! I checked inside of the oven just like you told me and it is not igniting unless I turn a burner on, so I am ordering the part today.
I also cleaned out the burners like you mentioned and they are lighting better than before, so I am happy.
I'll be sure to follow-up on the install and thanks again!

Hi.
I bought the part that Gene listed in his last post but I just want to be sure that I am installing it correctly.
There is a small bit of install instructions that came with the part but I was hoping someone might have something a bit more clearly defined. I'm not a repair person but I can follow instructions.;)
Thanks in advance for your help!
