We stopped using our dishwasher (Maytag model number MDB6759AWS3) for a couple of weeks and tried to run it tonight. None of the control panel lights come on, and the unit does not respond to any button presses or come on. The circuit breaker is fine.

I've seen threads about the design of other Maytag dishwashers being such that the action of opening and closing the door can cut the wires leading to the control panel; is that a problem with this model as well?

Thanks for any help anybody can offer.

Edited to add: the dishwasher is approximately two years old.

I went through 4 control panels in 1 year. The last bad one they didn't take and left it behind. I noticed I could peel the panel back from the right top corner exposing the contacts for the pause and the on buttons. Both had a milky tarnish from obvious water contact even though the panel was a couple months old. What quality control and engineering that is! Any way you can wipe clean with a contact cleaner, try and seal the corners with some rtv to prevent future water contact.
