The dryer's cabinet has a pre-punched vent hole in the side that is the same size as the vent in the back. It looks like a 90 degree elbow could redirect the vent to the side. Does anyone know if this would be an approved change?

As long as your modification doesn't interfere with the belt pathway, or impede the rotation of the tumbler, there is nothing wrong with re-routing it.
