The microwave started sparking a couple of nights ago, leaving burnt looking spots inside- still works, but there are tiny specks inside of wall that look burnt out. Timer on oven doesn't work, neither does self cleaner. We are moving soon and need to replace to sell house. What is the most economical option for us? Thanks so much!! Not very happy!!

I'm afraid you do not have much choice but replace the whole thing. The timer is no longer available for this model and arcing inside the microwave means serious problems with the cavity surface and, very possible, the magnetron.

Does anyone know if the baking element for the GE Dual Wave II is the same, regarless of model number? My oven's taking a long time to heat up and would not bake anything on the bottom so I'm assuming it's the baking element that needs replacing (Model #JKP78G0K4).
The unit is almost 20 years old and we would like to use it for another year before replacing the whole thing. Thanks for your help.
