I need to replace the Clock/Timer Control. The front panel has two screws underneath, easy to remove, however, the enamel range top must be lifted to get at the top screws holding control panel cover. I can see two hooks holding the top down in the front, but cannot figure out the release for the actual top. It's one of those repair secrets designed to frustrate us capable homeowners from doing for ourselves, a sad comment on our society.

The schematics available on this site are not quite detailed enough to show this procedure. They are very good all that apart.

You can find the complete instructions in the Service manual (pages 2-7 through 2-10). The sealed burner wrench is no longer available but you can find a similar tools in a hardware store.

- The part number for the clock is AP204798

You can not. This is different brands.
