I have a GE side by side and in stopped cooling over night. the fan is running fine and the compressor is very hot. I unplugged for hours and plugged it back in and heard a click followed by a high pitch sound followed shortly by a 2nd click then nothing. Should I start shopping or do you have any thoughts? Thx:)

Depending on where you live, a compressor job will cost up to $1000. Yours may be covered by warranty. Check before you commit to a service call.
