Hi,
We own a maytag oven, model # MER5755QAB. When we try to use the oven in bake mode it does not heat up. The Broil function works as well as the ceramic cooktop. The clean oven function works too. But the oven whenever it is put into bake mode will not heat past 175 degrees and it takes the oven a good 20-25 minutes to get to 175. Any help would be appreciated. The oven came with the home we just bought 2 months ago and now its now working. Please help.

Thanks,

Erik

Hi Erik,

Pull out the Bake heating element and check for burned wires.

If there is nothing wrong, then remove the wires from the heating element and check the heating element for continuity. Replace the heating element if it's open.

If there is nothing wrong, then replace the control board (aka a clock).

- The part number for the Bake heating element is AP4101290

- The part number for the clock is AP3503539

Gene.

OK, I just replaced the Control Pannel (clock) and the thermostat. It did not fix my problem.
If I would have read the response and trouble shot line for line I would have saved $250.00 in the process.
When we took a look at the Baking Element (my wife took it out) She found the element was broke right away. I went and got the element for $50.00 dollars and it fixed the problem right away.

So READ the Thread line by line!!
