Open the door. Remove the hinge screws. The door will then rock out of the hinge slots. Opposite the hinges are two plastic filler plates, shaped like triangles. Remove these by removing the screws. You may now remove the front panel by rocking it down and forward. the panel will rock off two clips at the bottom. Carefully set it aside.

Right under the top you will see two brackets, one on each side, each secured with a hex head screw (5/16 inch drive). Remove the screws. Each bracket will swivel outward; they keep the top in place. Remove them and you will be able to lift the top and gain access to the tumbler (drum).

I suspect from your description that you will find the belt is broken.
