I have a caloric eks289 that is assembled with a oven and microwave combo. I'm not sure what kind of oven it is? Is it a convection oven? It has a fan that turns on when I turn on the oven. It also has a lathch that slides horizontally that sits between between the two appliances (oven/micro) and i'm not sure what it's for.
Any thoughts on this?
Thanks.

It is not a convection oven, and that latch is for self cleaning, it locks the door so you can't open it during self cleaning

Thanks. I was learning about some baking tips and the convection word came up and I didn't know if I had one. I guess it makes a difference when cooking.
Thanks for the quick response.
